Career Journey:
I started in User Research and Interaction Design, focusing on key moments a person engaged with a product, service or system. I learned Design Thinking was a human-centered approach to innovation. I helped users accomplish their objectives in the easiest and most efficient way possible.
Eventually I took a multimodal Product Design approach, connecting multiple functions (e.g., content, interaction, visual, etc.) for more cohesive user experiences (UX). I partnered with the business, product, and engineering through out the Product Development Lifecycle.
Next I focused on Service Design, analyzing the relationship between people, process, and props, improving the overall customer experience (CX) by breaking down business silos. I mapped customer journeys, service blueprints, and systems architecture, and engaged people to envision future omni-channel brand experiences.
I then transitioned into Business & Organization Design, applying my skills inward to improve the function of the organization and the business experience (BX). I took a more human-led approach to transformation, balancing customer empathy, design, and strategy. I have instituted UX departments and advised other business functions.
I always champion System Design. I take a holistic, Systems Thinking approach for better understanding, cohesion, and efficiency.
Now I advise leadership on solving complex problems. I work with cross-enterprise teams to research, map and clarify the context, provide actionable insights and opportunities, showcase industry practices and new paradigms, collaboratively ideate on new concepts, and present innovative solutions. My people, process, bridging, and visualization skills are extremely valuable for understanding, connection, communication, and alignment. I facilitate the prioritization of the roadmap, determining desirability, viability, and feasibility.
I have successfully architected experience ecosystem maps, clarified North Star visions and roadmaps, proposed new business programs, instituted new functions and capabilities, piloted new operational structures and processes, evolved culture and mindsets, illustrated human experiences identifying areas of opportunity, iteratively researched and developed products and services enabled by new technologies, created cohesive systems, and instituted feedback loops.
Ultimately, I enable leadership to better understand their situation, solve complex problems, drive behavior, be competitive in market, optimize performance, improve maturity, grow at scale, and increase satisfaction of results.
